Incredibly tedious Microsoft Word question

joeymahone [Edit] [Delete] 17:36, 21 April '09

I’m on Microsoft Word 2008 for a Mac, version 12.1.5 – I have been for about ten days, since an upgrade. Previously, if you held down the command key and used the left and right arrows, it would move the cursor to the start of the next word – so if you wanted to select a word that was three words after the cursor, you could just press Cmnd+Right three times instead of having to hold the key down.

But now Cmnd+Left/Cmnd+Right are taking me to the end of the line. Which is not where I want to be. And what I want to know is: Is there any way to change it back?

It sounds petty, but it’s driving me nuts – and it feels like some of the documents I’m working on are taking me almost twice as long, what with having to change up to the mouse every time I want to select a word. Any help much appreciated.
