So it's my mates birthday tomorrow, generally I go a bit doolally over birthdays and wheel out a fairly large cake covered in candles.

But this friend is not into that at all, I however can't let his be the only birthday where we don't do the whole cake thing.

So i was thinking just getting him a little cupcake with a candle in but is this in itself more embarrassing as it's so small and effeminate?

Oh and we will be in an old mans boozer when I unveil it, if that makes a difference...
