I've got a top up card, I topped it up online before I left work, got an email confirmation immediately, got on the DLR - no money on it. Swiped it again and it deducted me twice. So I'm now minus the £1.10 I had on there, probably twice.
Don't remember seeing anything on the tfl website about it saying it wasn't instant, in fact it said swipe it on the yellow thingy and all will be okay. Even printed it out and checked it on the way home so pretty sure I'm not going mad here?

So... why am I now getting an email at 2.30am saying my Oyster card is ready to be uploaded at my nominated station?

Ffs. The only reason I did it online is because despite Canary Wharf DLR being a big corporate station, you can't actually add money onto your card there. So they have £15 of my money, I'm in debit on my card and now have to sort a stupid mess out.
