i reckon one of the only reasons that they're not giving time to the no-confidence grumbles is because they don't want to look weak caving into the opposition but the time is going to come soon when the uproar becomes so loud that they'll decide to save their own necks and sacrifice the speaker.

of course by the time they do come to that conclusion it'll be so late in the day that it'll just make them look flapping and pathetic ... but they won't realise it until the papers come out the next day or john humphreys laughs in a ministers face on the today programme.
