Are you shy and is identifying as someone who is shy a problem?

GalacticStar3ruption [Edit] [Delete] 20:50, 23 May '09

It could potentially cause some sort of acceptance that it's just the way you are. Now while there's nothing wrong with being shy per se could it possibly be all in your head?

I was talking to a friend last night and said something along the lines of "well, I am quite shy" she responded by laughing, saying I was talking rubbish and that I'm about as shy as she is. Considering she is the most forward "in your face" type person I know this revelation came as a bit of a shock. I began to question whether I've unecessarily identified as someone who is shy.

Opinions about this and your own perceived level of shyness are welcome.
