Right, I'm going for food at LMNT tomorrow (on hellatronix's advice if I remember correctly, in which case she'll be getting an offensive bouquet if it goes terribly wrong. for any reason.) I need two things around Dalston Lane/that bit of Kingsland road: a decoy bar/pub to take the birthday girl to first. And then somewhere fun to get drunk afterwards. The jazz bar is round there isn't it? That might be a bit much, though..
