Mine is Lancaster. It is one of the best places I have been to. The butterfly house dome building on the edge made me get off the train, but i didnt have time to see it sadly. The market strret had a hog roast for sale on a dreichy Wednesday afternoon!!, which almost made me forget I am a vegetarian. The castle is not just a castle: it's a crown court, a prison andd a theatre. Sometimes when two courts are sitting, tours are limited and you get in half price! What a deal. Museum of childhood in the old judge's lodgings is good too, if only for teddybears picnics. Good charity shops: got Twin Peaks videos, Greenvoe by GMB, Iris Murdoch book with a Munch print on the front, butterfly cards.

I would be really grateful if anyone could suggest more things in Lancaster for when I go back. I totally recommend it, especially to all the people who never leave London. Top tip: split your ticket and stop off here for a few hours if you're ever on your way between north and south; the station doesn't have ticket barriers.

btw I mean just the 401 central part of the line: Glasgow Central to London Euston, so don't say like Liverpool or Edinburgh...
