I was watching that thing on iplayer about the pre-raphaelites and it got me wondering about the other self conscious movements in art or literature or whatever.
Groups of people that are consciously rebelling against something or going after some aim in a uniform and self contained fashion.

What are these other movements? What are the best ones? I'd be interested to know.
