getting conned

utm_usic [Edit] [Delete] 18:17, 13 July '09

well, kind of. i'm a bit screwed financially at the moment so i thought i'd get a loan to cover rent and things while i try and find a second job. went to a place called yes loans and went through an application for a £500 loan. the guy on the phone said there'd be a charge of £9.50 for admin fees or something which i begrudgingly agreed to pay.

just checked my bank account and they've taken £69.50. after looking on the internet (something i should have done before) it seems that they take this money before they even know if you're eligible for a loan. so they may very well have taken £70 off me even though i might not get the loan amount. i realise it's my fault for being completely stupid/desperate, but i'm now majorly screwed rather than being a little bit screwed. does anyone fancy lending me a couple of hundred pounds? or failing that, is there anything i can do to get this money back? i'm so pissed off with myself right now.
