i don't really get it (mind you, jon stewart might not be the best person to listen to for clarity)

they're bascally trying to make the system less dependent on private companies, but rather than launching a public, state owned system, they're launching *insurance* alternatives that are run by the government? i don't really see how that's going to change anything?????????????
