I'm on the dole, been put on placement somewhere working 28 hours a week because I'm under 25 and that's what happens when you've been claiming Jobseeker's Allowance for about eight months. Despite the relative ease and stress-free nature of the job ('park ranger' - spend most days litter picking, strimming and laying woodchip paths, literally a walk in the park) most of the lads have this pretence that they're hard done by and that anyone who earns a living by way of something that doesn't constitute manual labour has it easy. But I don't think they even believe it themselves; it's almost as if they're speaking from their parents mouths and it's their prerogative to moan because they're wearing a hi-vis vest. It's these same people that prolonged the expenses scandal; faux-anger at the man in a suit when deep-down they know they couldn't really give a shit.
