There's no warmth in a Baron Cohen set-up

TheDailyBumbler [Edit] [Delete] 07:01, 2 August '09

It lacks a required addition of successful character comedy...a beating heart behind the vitriol.
The only people who can get away with out 'n' out spite, sterility and an overall sense of detachment are Peter Cook and Chris Morris...and that's because of the bleak surrealism. They're Masters of Id. Baron Cohen plays with stereotypes and presents them as papier-mâché postmodernism.

+ he never properly justifies his himself. It's the comedians occupational duty to defend their stock. Gervais and Merchant have spent countless interviews triumphantly defending their ''theatre if cruelty'', Richard Herring and Brendon Burns recently stepped up to the mark to rationalize their Edinburgh sets...but with Cohen all we get is: ''A spokesman for Baron Cohen declined to comment.''

He needs to face up to his assault on teacher. Own up to launching that Fanta bottle full of 12 bodily functions. Admit to flinging the shit.
