Making a horribly complicated and life-changing choice

Murder [Edit] [Delete] 10:51, 15 August '09

Hello strangers in cyberspace. I would very much appreciate your advice on this matter.
I'm at a very difficult crossroads right now. I have been accepted onto a PGCE in Wolverhampton [which is some way away from home...I applied late] but I'm considering dropping it for the current year because the last two years have been hell, in terms of work and stress.
I haven't got much money for a year out but I'm still considering doing it and working. Basically, I've heard that the PGCE is such back-breakingly hard work and your hours are incredibly difficult. I don't think I can bear that right now. I think one morning I'm just going to be planning lessons until 11pm, wake up, notice I have an hour long train ride to a bunch of screaming, uncontrollable kids and just off myself.
I definitely want to be a teacher [in French and Spanish] but the job market seems so horrible right now that I don't know what to do. I have very little time to figure this out. I'm good at translation and office stuff but that's about it.
So...any thoughts?
