Seeing children maltreated by parents in public

beautiful_balloon [Edit] [Delete] 16:40, 9 September '09

I was walking through the park today, enjoying the sunniest afternoon I can remember in quite a while - In front of me were two young parents and their little girl who was probably about four or five years old.

This girl had just been allowed to go to the ice-cream van all by herself to get herself a big chocolatey double-stacked ice-cream, and she was delighted with it. She ran over giggling to her parents to show them what she had got, but she tripped over, sending it splatting onto the pavement.

You could see the mixture of pain and distress spread over her face as she got up, and understandably started crying - and her parents just started yelling at her "stupid girl, why don't you look when you're going" and they didn't buy her another ice cream, just dragged her off in floods of tears.

This properly upset me, I really wanted to buy her a replacement but you can't really do that can you? Few things piss me off more than seeing kids treated like this
