The Women's Institute that I unfortunately find myself surrounded with at work are absolutely insistant this morning that conkers are a surefire way to keep spiders at bay. I've never heard such absolute gutrot in my life, and telling them that maybe they repel tigers as well because I've never seen one near a conker has done nothing to ingratiate myself to them.
