when people have birthday parties and events at clubs with strict dress codes...

...that mean dressing right up or you don't get in, and say things like "no jeans, no t-shirts, no trainers" and you realise that, wedding/funeral suit aside, you only own jeans, t-shirts, trainers and the odd shirt.

this is annoying isn't it?

what do you do? borrow clothes? or go buy a silly expensive outfit for the sake of someone's birthday party?

(yes, i fully accept that it's a massive deficiency on my part for not owning *any* dress-up clothes)
