I moved into my new house in Cardiff a month ago and one of us phoned BT to set up landline (which had been disconnected over the summer) and broadband. They told us they'd have someone in the area in two weeks, saying that it would take so long because we live in Wales - last I checked, BT stands for British Telecom and Wales is part of Britain AND there're over 2.5 million people living in Cardiff, a fair proportion of the population of Britain - no excuse.

Noone turned up. We phoned them and they told us that we didn't need anyone to turn up, when we did. They also told us that they had sent us the home-hub thingy. After 2 hours on the phone and seven different departments later we determined that they had our address as five houses down the road and proceeded to accuse us of telling them the wrong address.

So, we were back to where we were two weeks previously and had to wait another two weeks. During these two weeks they told us several times that we didn't need an engineer to come to our house... no wait we do... oh, sorry, we don't... etc. etc.

Finally, today someone came around for FIVE BLOODY MINUTES and set up our landline. WHY WAS THAT SO DIFFICULT? WHY DID IT TAKE A MONTH TO SORT OUT?

Rant over. I don't care if noone reads to the end, I just wanted to vent *sigh* That's better.
