I know this isn't the case for everybody, but god getting Internet can be hard. I just moved into a flat above a shop and BT want me to pay £130 connection charge which I can't afford and Virgin actually require a signed and returned legal document from my landlord and the owner of the shop downstairs before they'll even think about arranging a technician to come out in 2 to 4 weeks time.

I got myself one of those mobile broadband dongle things, but I'm already maxing out the bandwidth on skype and porn. I'm actually considering getting another dongle from another company until Virgin do something, but I just know in two months I'll be sat around with a pile of 24 month broadband contracts to pay for.

Has anyone had any experience with other providers that don't use a BT line, like Talk Talk or Orange or whatever? I've heard they're a bit shit. Sky, for some reason, still require you to have a BT line.

Sorry I realise this is probably quite a dull thread, I'm just not sure how to LIVE WITHOUT BLAZING FAST INTERNET.
