Monday Football Thread

City draw their fourth in a row thanks to a saved penalty and Birmingham's strikers being blessed with rapey touches. Highlights suggested City were lucky to get a point. Cardiff fell victim to a probably deserved last minute equaliser against Forest.

Ronnie Whelan thinks Rafa has got his priorities wrong. I'm not too sure priorities have much of anything to do with Liverpool's woeful form. Reports suggest Liverpool will be without 12 players against Lyon. Ouch.

David Villa is still inexplicably being linked with Chelsea, despite the player's continued insistence he doesn't want to leave Spain and the club's current (and it is still current) inability to sign anyone.

Mark Hughes was supposedly in attendance of Barca's 1-1 draw with Osasuna on Saturday. Depending on who you believe this was either because he's considering a swoop for Cesar Azpilicueta or selling Robinho.

I like this story, it amuses me:
'Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Danny has recovered from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament sustained in May but the club's insurance policy has prevented him from playing. The terms of the policy mean that he is not permitted to play within six months of sustaining his injury.'
