How well do you fare travelling alone?

Myself and a friend were due to go to Tel Aviv this weekend, but he recently broke his shoulder and therefore it's undecided whether he'll be fit enough to go on holiday.

I'm weighing up whether I would still go alone. I went to New York on my own but I knew people over there and generally had a clearer idea of to expect there.

So... holidaying alone. Yay or nay?
