World Cup Qualifying D-Day Football Thread

DanielKelly [Edit] [Delete] 08:47, 18 November '09

The European World Cup qualification campaign comes to an end tonight. Ireland will be seeking to overturn a 1-0 scoreline at a ground the French haven't lost a competitive match at for quite some time, Slovenia will be hoping their late goal in the 2-1 away defeat to Russia sets them up quite well, Portugal might just feel a tad jittery against Bosnia and everyone involved in Ukraine-Greece will just do well to stay awake for the 90 minutes. You can get odds of about 14-1 on all of the favourites (France, Portugal, Ukraine and Russia) winning tonight. Swap France/Portugal for Ireland/Bosnia and that shoots up to 83-1. Might have a slice of both.

Loads of Keane/Henry quotes in the press. Nowt interesting.

Kieran Gibbs is having an ankle injury assessed today after being injured in England U21's 0-0 draw with the Lithuanian U21 side.

Gattuso 'wants' a move to Man City, Barca 'want' Robinhio on loan and Chelsea 'have' secured the £40m signing of Sergio Aguero.

I believe there were some cup replays last night. I know Leyton Orient lost, so I lost interest. Sorry.
