Do we call our parents 'Mum' and 'Dad' because they're the easiest sounds for a baby to formulate?
Or is it just because every parent spends ages going 'mumumumumumumumumum' in their kids faces that they pick it up?
And if so, then do kids in other countries say 'mere' and 'pere' and 'ma' and 'pa' as their first words instead of the ones UK kids do?
WELL?
