You don't shoot any AI-ed up to their balls zombies. Nor do you blow up any civillians in an airport. You basically just do what Mario has been doing for about 20 years, but my God do you have super fun times.

The old Mario platform games are great, no-one with any sense will suggest otherwise, and the multiplayer stuff is immense. Picking up Luigi and throwing him down a chasm is hilarious.
