anyone else in a band and fed up of being skint because of it?

I know it's all about the music etc, but i put everything into my band and as a result i can't hold down a job - we're quite new, but we're doing well - so i'm putting things like gigs/recording etc first as priorities - this means I have a lot of time off work. Meaning I get asked not to come back into work pretty quickly. It's pretty bad when you start a new job and ask for a holiday almost straight away/ring in sick. You don't last long....sigh. So i'm constantly very skint. I've got no idea how I'm gonna get my family christmas presents. Even more depressing is that i'm strugglin to muster up the money to pay for my part of the practice room, because i lost my job because of the band, and I've got no idea where I'm gonna find money for the recording time we've booked in the new year. Fucking typical!

Words of wisdom/advice welcome please. I'm sure there's a few others out there in DiS land in a similar predicament. I literally have about £4 to my name. Oh and I know there's pretty much no money in music even if my band did 'make it', but i'm not arsed. I want to record an album and i'd love to tour and so on, so it's worth it.

Do you work full time? How do you balance band stuff/job at the same time? What's your story basically. *awaits the mocking cynical posts*
