Shep, a dog whose master's casket was taken away by train and met every train for six years until his death

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shep_%28American_dog%29

Shep kept this daily vigil for almost six years until his death on January 12, 1942 when he was run over by the next train he was waiting for. It is believed that his front paws were on one of the rails and he simply did not hear the train until it was too late, and he slipped on ice. The train's engineer could not stop the train in time.

a dog who, after being given away after his owner died, kept escaping and looking for him. when he realised he didnt live at their old house any more, he went to train station, and waited for 10 years until he died

what was the name of that dog from ye olde days who was killed by his master cos he thought he killed the baby, but he had actually saved the baby from a snake or something?
