would you take a £5k paycut to work one day less a week in a job you'd like much better than the one you have?

jesus_son [Edit] [Delete] 10:27, 4 January '10

there's a job i could apply for, which would be a pretty good place to work, which i think i can totally get.

it'd mean going from £22.5k to £17.5k (£22.5 pro rata, but it's 4 days a week). the bonus there is in the working 4 days a week (YYY).

downside is i do struggle a bit moneywise sometimes. but people pick up freelance work occasionally right? and this would allow much more time for that kinda thing. and there'd presumably be room to climb if so desired, bump the salary up a little.

have you ever taken a paycut to make a big change? how did it work out? it seems scary but i think it might need to be done.
