he used the argument that if you increased the welfare state or redistributed wealth to the extent that someone could not work and get the same amount of money as someone who did work would mean that everyone would stop working...

(he's left wing but has mellowed over the years i think)

and i'm struggling to argue with it back... help me out a bit
