which foreign words/names/places do you pronounce in foreign?

meths [Edit] [Delete] 14:17, 21 January '10

and ones do you pronounce how the hell you like?

my obvious smarmy words are:

CHAREE-THO (chirizo): cos i'd never heard of one till she told me what they were and she speaks in spanish.
REE-O-CkHA (rioja): as above.
BEUREAU DE CHAAANGE (beureau de change): she calls is a beureau de change (english style 'change') but i'm sure i'm right.
HEY-ZEUS (Jesus): spanish name. sounded funny when my dad said it.

the ones i cant decide where i stand:

MOOR-THIA (Murcia): region in spain. both sound wrong.
BARL (Basel): place in switzerland. again both dont seem right.
KRAKOV (Krakow): its mostly places really isnt it?

the ones where i go all out english:

VAN GOFF (Van Gogh): who fuckin knows how to pronounce his name anyway?
BETCH-AH-STEIN-OOK (Vladimir Beschastnykh): Russian footballer off champ manager. fuck knows how to pronounce that.

this thread has taken me a LOT longer than i thought it would. please jog my memory.
