Theo?

Stealthy [Edit] [Delete] 12:48, 22 January '10

Finally got round to installing my new hard disk now. I thought everything was going to be easy, I had enough connections for once, BIOS recognised the drive without any bullshit quibbling and disk management gave it a name without fuss (H, in case you're wondering).

So why am I finding that I get about five to ten minutes of use out of the PC before everything freezes and I have to reboot? My first guess is that I simply have too many drives (3) and that there isn't enough power to drive them all. Is that a thing that actually happens?

Then there's the obnoxious way the inside of my PC actually looks. The motherboard caters for SATA connections only, yet one of my disks is IDE, necessitating a ridiculous tangle of leads, adaptors and plugs that I'm sure must be fucking something up, somewhere.

You have any thoughts?
