Hi all, I was wondering if I could ask a favour? I'm doing a book publishing MA and for a group project we're looking at writing a commissioning proposal for I, Axl by Ben Myers (http://iaxl.blogspot.com/ - just close that random box that comes up). It's a reimagining of the life of Axl Rose through poetry. I came across it a while back as a fan of Ben Myers (benmyersmanofletters.blogspot.com) and thought it would be interesting to look at for this. Personally I think it's great and really funny, but then I did live with a huge G'n'R fan so know quite a lot about Axl's life.

We're proposing doing it as a humour book with a format along the lines of Am I Alone in Thinking? (that unpublished letters to the Daily Telegraph book that was out this Xmas, if anyone knows it) So a relatively small hardback. The thinking is that with the right cover it could be a good impulse buy at xmas as a gift for rock fans. Plus anyone that is either a fan of Axl or Ben Myers might specifically search it out.

As part of the proposal we need to do some market research and as part of that we thought we'd ask the opinions of people on some music forums. So if you don't mind could you please let us know basically what you think of it? We would be very greatful. And then if you want to say anything else maybe if you would ever consider buying it for either yourself or someone else, how much you would pay for it, if you think you might pick it up on impulse or if it was 3-for2, etc.

But like I said, just a "this is shit" or "this is alright" would be a great help. Thanks a lot.
