Women say some rape victims should take blame

sophiacherryx [Edit] [Delete] 12:42, 15 February '10

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8515592.stm

"Clearly, women are in a position where they need to take responsibility for themselves - but whatever you wear and whatever you do does not give somebody else the right to rape you. " - the point i was going to make before someone at the bottom fo the article made it for me.

does anyone here feel this way?
i say there is absolutely no excuse for rape and women should never be blamed for it in the slightest, it's absolutely ridiculous that people still think this way.

also i've noticed how there are adverts warning girls to be careful when drinking/not put themselves at risk but never any aimed at men with the message 'no means no, no matter how short her skirt is' (kind of thing) i think the adverts for girls are in themselves a good idea but no advertising the other way round puts the onus wholly on women.

thoughts?
Dicuss?

or is this too heavy for monday...
