I'm planning a booze-themed menu for a dinner party I'm having soon for me and my friends, to celebrate us finishing our (very stressful and gruelling) school placements. I'm already thinking of some obvious things like stroganoff (which is a particular hit of mine, so I'm thinking maybe a mushroom stroganoff for starter, although I'm not sure if that would go), steak and ale pie, some sort of red wine jus type thing for roast vegetables, and some other stuff.

Just wanted to know what things people would suggest, especially for starters or desserts? It's not so much that I can't think of anything, but the brackets of 'white wine type starter', 'meaty red wine or ale oriented main course' and 'boozy dessert' are so wide, I don't know what to choose first. I'll trawl through Delia too, but thought I'd cast out a net for suggestions here as well... I want to know your FAVOURITES please!
