i have a question about my tv cable, but i dont know any of the terminology, so please bear with me.

i need a tv cable that has 2 "masculine" ends. does this exist? its to go from my wall socket (feminine) to my tiscali tv box (strangely, also feminine). but my ariel lead has a male and a female end. i really dont think this type of lead exists. does it? do i need to start taking leads from the tv to the box and then to the wall. i wasnt there when the guy installed it, but apparently he said we "have the wrong lead".

this is all basically so i cant use the "red button".
