Did your degree actually get you your job, or did you waste £11,000+?

Mine actually *did*, oddly. I was 'studying' publishing (yep, about as mickey-mouse as it sounds), and working in a guitar shop in my third year doing repairs etc.

Technically, it was only due to the latter that I was at a trade show with the shop, which meant that I met a magazine editor in a lift, but it was my degree that caught his attention.

Props to my pluckyness for saying hello, obviously.

I'll add that the person in the company on the same money as me with the same position was a year younger and had no degree, so that was a bit of a comedown.

But did YOUR degree, if you have one, prove to be the deal breaker? Did it?
