Volunteering at festivals

So I've just signed up to work on the bars at Glastonbury. You get free entry, a secure camping area, nice toilets and showers, free food when you work etc. You just have to work 3 8hr shifts over the whole weekend, and pay a £100 deposit which you get back when you've worked all your shifts.

Is anyone else doing this/done this at other festivals? Was it good? Do you still feel like you've properly had a festival or is it a bit of an annoyance to have to go to work? I'm tempted to apply to work at Green Man as well.
