No time for an elaborate backstory.

I'm seeing a girl who still lives with her parents. This evening, I took her home and we cooked late. I decided omelettes would be quick and pleasing. My methodology was taught to me by my folks, finish under the grill. There was smoke already coming off the grill, so we opened the windows. While the second omelette is cooking, Dad makes an appearance. Remarks on the burning smell, identifies the wooden handle and directs a vile tirade against her and ignoring my ownership of the situation. When he finally hears, he tips my omelette down the sink and orders me out. While I concede and head to the door, her mother calmly advances, and reassures me, while right in front of me he kicks her hard and calls her a gormless fucking idiot. I am shown out and she goes to her room in tears.

Today is my maternal mother's 50th birthday. I haven't seen her in any of my adult life thanks to a controlling, violent stepdad. I didn't need this today. But I do need your advice. Girl is safe and well. Everyone's in bed. What next?
