After many years of being tempted, I think this coming weekend I will finally venture into a music shop with an eye to buying a cheap bass. I'll only be getting it as a toy to tinker with really and harbour no serious ambitions of playing Wembley any day soon (or even the Dog and Duck for that matter). I'm thinking of going for either a Squier or an Epiphone Thunderbird. Going to try a few first obviously, but anyone got any thoughts. Also thinking of going for a 30w amp, maybe an Ashdown or Marshall, for about the £100 mark. I was thinking of checking out Andertons in Guildford. Recommended?
