A friend of mine has got an Ipod touch for his birthday and whilst helping set it up I have encountered a few problems, so;

1)Am I right in thinking you need a computer with a USB 2.0 otherwise it won't charge or sync?

2)How easy is it to upgrade or adapt a USB port to a USB 2.0 if at all?

3)They do have a netbook (no cd drive) is it possible to download itunes onto both computers and use the pc to rip his cds whilst using the netbook to sync via the home sharing option?
