I finally dug around for this after reading an AV Club article on it this morning, I'd been hearing about it for ages as this great lost TV show so I thought I'd post the links for anyone who's never seen it.

Very funny pilot epsiode directed by Ben Stiller with Jack Black as an astronaut whose super-charged brain only works during sunlight hours and his sentient motorcycle sidekick with the voice of Owen Wilson, made when all three of them were still doing interesting, brilliant comedy. Definitely a precursor to Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
