question about credit cards and ratings

ladyoftheflowers [Edit] [Delete] 17:25, 18 April '10

people of dis:

several years ago, I was given a credit card by natwest. Because I didn't trust myself to use it properly, I ripped it up. Last summer, I went travelling so thought a credit card would be useful, so I went into the bank and asked them to issue me with a replacement card. The girl helping me was a complete moron, and instead of ordering me a *replacement*, applied for a brand new card. I got rejected for the new card (presumably because I wasn't earning enough, although I never bothered to find out why). Anyway I went into the bank and explained their mistake and they issued me the replacement I originally asked for.

Now, I have had an offer of a job and just have to go through some last checks before I officially start. One of the questions is: 'Have you ever been refused bank account facilities, includng charge/credit cards'? Well the answer is yes - because of a natwest mistake, not my own.

Do you think this will count against me? Will the natwest apologise for this? Is it the kind of thing a nice boss would look over?

thank you xx
