We are throwing out my old stereo as the CD player's all fucked.

We have got a replacement standalone turntable. We haven't got any other bits.

We want to be able to connect up the record player, and have a input so we can plug in an iPod or laptop. Not bothered about having a CD player or tuner.

Can anyone recommend a nifty amplifier and speaker set which will do the job for less than 150 notes? I realise the quality won't be mindboggling, but such is life.

And do I need a preamp for the turnytable?
