If you were filthy rich...

ghostpony [Edit] [Delete] 16:44, 25 April '10

...how would you treat your kids?
Would you spoil them rotten?
Would you make them work for their own money?
Would you give them just enough to make their lives happy and comfortable?

I've just been looking on Facebook at some girls I was at school with. All they have done since they left school (2007) is travel, live/party in London, and party abroad. I'm 99% certain they have not ever done a day's work. I suppose they'll marry well and have children and it'll start all over again.

Part of me sort of thinks "Well, why not give your kids a ridiculous lifestyle, if you can afford it? What's the point in making them suffer?" They're probably paying shite loads of tax anyway. But part of me also thinks "Fuck off you twats, actually do something with your lives, why don't you help some less fortunate people out instead of lying about in your Moroccan villa?"

I'm not poor by any means, and I think I'm really fucking lucky to have been able to do some of the things I've done. My parents would never let me starve, either. But they've always made me work for the things I want - they would NEVER give me money for holidays or festivals or even books and clothes (y'kno, like, after I was 16). I dunno, I guess it's about finding a balance.

Thoughts? Am I just blabbering?
