Ideas for viable iTouch/iPhone + iPad games

TheoGB [Edit] [Delete] 11:44, 30 April '10

So far we've got a version of Scrabble where your iTouch/iPhone is your tile holder and the iPad has the board. And now there's this:

A top-down driving game where your iTouch/Phone is just a simple controller.

Neither of these are anything more than gimmicks. Scrabble is clearly less useful than a copy of the game and the driving game in that video is like a 3rd rate micro machines.

But it got me wondering what games really COULD benefit from a single view in the middle of the players and an individual controller with a screen.

Driving game? I can't see the 1st person view on your controller being less than you'd need. I've never played such a game and wished I could peek over to see an overview of the course.

FPS? Most of the point is that you can't see more than your limited view.

Football was the only thing that sprang to mind, though getting 22 people round an iPad would be quite an achievement, everyone having a 3D players' eye view while also being able to see the whole pitch might work?

Anyway, what games can you imagine being made that would be amazing in this context?
