Indie parents frighten me. Your parents shouldn't be cool. They should be frightening and taller than you and you shouldn't know what all their stuff is. They should have books that looks boring or you can't read filling the bookshelves and intimidating and they should have this album and you see the cover and don't know why shes doing that
Smacks of insecurity to me. Its inevitable that your kids take after you to some extent so trying to engineer them to imitate you is really worrying. Besides, if you're a good parent and a virtuous person then it seems intuitive they'll turn out inheriting your generic traits (eg virtuous interest in music) than your weird specific traits (eg lightning bolt back catalogue, or whatever that guy prefers to Dylan)
