what is the point of the recent actual or mooted 'industrial actions'

creakyknees [Edit] [Delete] 15:20, 30 June '10

by public sector workers?
Are they trying to blackmail the gov into keeping high public spnding to their own advantage and to non public sector workers disadvantage?

What outcome is envisaged? that their pay continue to rise?

Or is it just to register disgruntledness cos they (along with others) will have severe resource problems, whilst many rich people (many who have benefited from their time mismanaging finances) are not so impoverished?

If the latter I would have thought that a more appropriate response would be more 'targeted' rather than a broader approach.

I also cannot understand the philosophy behind the cabin crew actions, don't they know that they dont have a hope in hell in these conditions.....it will only work if staff were hard to come by, they are not, and in fact they have played into the airlines hands, cso they is already getting in cheaper replacements, they will be able to do away with the more expensive originals completely soon enough
