seriously. Knowing friends in exactly the same industry who either progress and flourish/get to where they want to be or stay in the same role and moan about it 24/7, I sort of have an off switch for sympathy for the latter.

They tell me it's to do with qualifications, or background, or location, or the tight job market, but they tell me that while their peers get the jump on them.

And I just end up thinking: no. It's you. Just have more initiative and get shit done.

Right. Right?
