So it's gone 5pm and the main site is down... Good time to ask an obscure theoretical physics question then

moker [Edit] [Delete] 18:09, 8 July '10

So if our viewing horizon is about 13.5 billion light years away, to the very begins of the universe, what is say.... 2000 billion light years away? Or 50 trillion, billion light years away. Surely it's not just nothing.

Also, I've never been able to square in my head why our view happens to extend to pretty much exactly when the universe began (13 odd bill years ago). Doesn't that seem like a huge coincidence?

I clearly know nothing. I demand these ignorant questions of mine are answered.
