Has anyone here gotten a job, writing work or any sort of exterior recognition due to a blog?

xylopwn [Edit] [Delete] 10:37, 15 July '10

Just interested - when I got into writing the blog was a relatively under-subscribed format, and therefore I wasn't asked for online examples of my work to prove anything.

These days, I assume it's a mandatory thing, but is that a silly assumption? And do you think it adds weight to a writer's CV? Looking at applications from writers a while black, everyone seems to have a blog, but then it's sort of hard not to be biased to the better looking sites even if the writing's not so good.

So: fill me in. A worthwhile endeavour?
