If they had trimmed from this programme the twenty minutes spent by Mel and Sue wittering on about the history of cakes, i reckon this could have been pretty good. there were some amazing-looking cakes (the chocolate one with truffles on top, especially) and then some that looked disastrously amateurish (anything the old weeping guy made).

still: fairly entertaining - like masterchef, but less shouty and with more bunting.
