Imagine if

untrue [Edit] [Delete] 22:29, 19 August '10

you were watching a football match on telly and round about the 7th minute the commentator and co-commentator go to say something at the same time. Both of them stop speaking because obviously they don't want to talk over each other. A second passes but and then both of them talk again at the same time. "Heheh, sorry Clive" the co-commentator says but instead of waiting for the commentator to say his piece, he uses the pause to say his bit, only the commentator has the same idea and AGAIN they talk over each other. This carries on until the end of the game. 83 minutes plus stoppage time of failed attempts at trying to talk. There's been no commentary. Round about the 85th minute they've been silent for 5 minutes. Confident that there's no way the co-commentator will attempt to speak at the same time as him again, the commentator proceeds to say his piece only for the co-commentator to begin at the exact same time. OFCOM registers 4000 complaints and ITV release a public apology describing the situation as 'unprecedented, and grossly unfortunate.'
